A: Typically, a sand base is recommended. For poor drainage areas, a sand and hardcore base is ideal. If your drainage is excellent, you can lay directly on compacted sod. The grass also adapts well to timber or other hard floors, and gravel can serve as a base if topped with sand and compacted.

Q: Can I put it on top of my existing grass?
A: It is strongly advised against installing on existing grass, as it will inevitably die, leading to unwanted bumps on your pristine new surface. Our installation process begins with removing the current lawn to an appropriate depth, then replacing it with a meticulously compacted drainage sand/grit base and a geotextile fabric to prevent weeds.
